  6. This is the READ.ME file for TurboDLD v1.0. It contains
  7. information that has changed or is different from the Installation
  8. Guide, as well as some other useful tips.

  14. This version of TurboDLDClassic only supports Diamond Video Boards.

  18. I - TIPS/ERRATA/FEATURES/REVISIONS
  19. ============================================================
  20.  
  21. - Rendering Resolution options will be available only when
  22. configuring a Rendering device, not directly from the Graphics
  23. Board/Resolution Menu as indicated in the Installation Guide.
  24. Rendering options will appear when AutoCAD R12's AVE Render
  25. is first configured or when configuring 3D Studio or AutoShade.
  26. It      may be necessary to reconfigure AVE Render by using the
  27. RCONFIG command at the AutoCAD command prompt.
  28.  
  29. - For AutoCAD R12 setup, when installing TurboDLD Deluxe into a 
  30. subdirectory other than \ACAD\DRV, you must edit the ACADDRV 
  31. environment variable to point to the TurboDLD sub-directory.
  32. For example, if TurboDLD Deluxe was installed into a sub-directory
  33. on drive C: named TURBODLD, the ACADDRV environment variable would
  34. look like the following:
  35.     SET ACADDRV=C:\ACAD\DRV;C:\TURBODLD
  36.  
  37. - When running at greater than 8 bits-per-pixel (256 colors),
  38. setting physical colors via DLDCOLOR will have no visible
  39. effect until an SAVE and EXIT occurs.

  42. - There is no longer a Remove or Overwrite mode for the Display
  43. List. TurboDLD functions as the Remove mode did in previous DLD
  44. versions, eliminating flashing of erased vectors, without affecting
  45. performance.
  46.  
  47. - The BPCACHE is normally disabled, not enabled as is indicated in
  48. the Installation Guide. Enabling BPCACHE will only make a noticeable
  49. performance difference when using TIGA-based graphics boards.
  50.  
  51. - For those persons with low CPU RAM and less than 20mb of available hard
  52. disk space you should use the -SWAPCHK ON switch to configure AutoCAD. 
  53. This switch will give you the option of saving your drawing when AutoCAD
  54. starts to run out of disk space.   The way you configure this is to change
  55. into your AutoCAD program sub-directory and at the prompt type:
  56.         CFIG386 ACAD -SWAPCHK ON

  58. What if I Have Problems?
  59. ========================

  61. If you encounter a problem with TurboDLD, please try to
  62. duplicate, and document, the steps required to reproduce it.
  63. As you document the problem, list your current system
  64. configuration, including video board, resolution, number of
  65. colors configured, etc. Also, if possible, try to duplicate
  66. the problem with an AutoCAD sample file so that we can
  67. easily try to re-create the problem on our equipment.
